O Warren Stevelmans from South Africa, fighting for Vos Gym, was the winner of the European K-1 Max (-70kg), which took place in Holland. In the final (3 rounds of 3 minutes) he won Marco Pique from Suriname representing Slamm gym.Slamm.

Victory for Iron Mike Zambidis
In the presense of 10.000 spectators, in Athens Greece, at the main event of the evening, Iron Mike Zambidis won his Spanish opponent with a TKO at the 3rd round. Chi Bin Lim from the republic of Korea was the winner of the Asian K-1 Max. In the final he won his countrymanK. Max at 2'06" of the 3rd round with a TKO. During the same event two superfights took place. Buakaw Por. Pramuk, from Thailand (Por.Pramuk Gym) fought against Joon Kim from the republic of Korea (THAIYU KAIKAN). Pramuk won with a ΚΟ at 0'37" of the 2nd round. The other fight was between In Jin Chi from the republic of Korea (KHAN GYM) and Ryuji Kajiwara from Japan (Team Dragon). In Jin Chi was the winner with a unanimous decision (3-0).

2008 Format
During a press conference at Fuji Television Bldg the Κ-1 organising committee anounced the format of the competition for the K-1 World Grand Prix '08. K-1 World GP attracts the best fighters from all over the world and it is television trasmitted in 135 countries. the 16th K-1 includes 4 tournaments in Japan (June - Fukuoka), Asia (June - Macao or Taipei), USA (July - Xawai) and Europe (April - Holland). The 4 winners of the aforementioned competitions, plus 4 selected for outstanding performances during 2008 by the K-1 committee, plus the 8 finalists of 2007 will meet at the K-1 Final Elimination in Seoul on 29 of September. There 8 out of the 16 fighters will qualify for the K-1 World GP Final of December 6 at Yokohama Arena.
